Mahon is the capital of Menorca on the east coast of Menorca. The city is also known as Mao. It is located only a short taxi ride away from the airport. The greatest attraction of the city is the old quarters which is located on 30 meter high cliff above the harbour. Old quarters of Mahon include beautiful historic buildings and amazing viewpoints over the Port de Mao.

The harbor of Mahon Port de Mao is located in the center of the city at the end of a long bay. It is the largest harbor of the island and also the largest natural harbor in the Mediterranean. The harbour of Mahon is about six kilometers long and about one kilometer wide. Large cruise ships bring tourists to the harbour of Mahon from several destinations like Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Valencia.
